Amy Craven, a lover of words and a lifelong educator, graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from UCLA with a BA in English. While teaching at her high school alma mater, she earned her MA in education with a concentration in secondary curriculum and instruction at SDSU.

Since 2002 she has been using her English skills in a variety of contexts from writing curriculum guides to critiquing essays to proofreading legal documents. She has been homeschooling her own children since 2006 (with two still at home and three graduates pursuing post-secondary degrees) and has been teaching English online to middle and high school students since 2017.

She holds California Single Subject-English and Multiple Subject teaching credentials as well as a Professional Certificate in Creative Writing from UCSD, and she is a Registered Instructor with the Institute for Excellence in Writing.
